FINAL JOURNEY

An Islamic shroud, called kafan, is a simple white cloth used to wrap the deceased in accordance with Islamic burial rituals. It symbolizes purity, humility, and equality before Allah. The shroud is plain, without decorations, emphasizing simplicity. For men, it consists of three pieces, while women are wrapped in five. Before shrouding, the body is washed and perfumed in a dignified manner (Ghusl Mayyit). The kafan is tied with strips of cloth to secure it. This practice reflects Islamic values, treating all people equally in death, regardless of wealth or status.
